Answer:
Boot Camp is the fastest solution for running Windows on your Mac. If you use Boot Camp, Windows will run natively. VMWare and Parallels both work well, but they require you to run Windows on top of / at the same time as OS X. That feature is useful if you want to interact with Windows and OS X at the same time, but Boot Camp is the best method if you are mostly concerned about speed. One note, you do have to reboot each time you want to use Boot Camp and reboot again when you are ready to switch back to OS X.
