Before upgrading your RAM, it’s important to know how much memory you have installed and how many memory slots your Mac can support.
Find Installed Memory And Number of Memory Slots In Three Steps:
- Click on the Apple menu at the top left of your screen and select About This Mac.
- Click More Info (OS X Lion users have the extra step of clicking System Report).
- System Profiler will launch. Click on Memory in the left panel. The right panel will show number of memory slots and installed memory.
