Answer:
The AppleCare Protection Plan extends your hardware warranty to three years for Macs and two years for iPods. Without AppleCare, customers receive a one year hardware warranty and up to 90 days of phone support. AppleCare can be purchased with your computer or anytime before your initial one year warranty ends.
In addition to the hardware support provided by the AppleCare Protection Plan, software support is also included. Accidental damage protection is not covered by AppleCare.
