How Do I Send Audio Messages In iOS Messages?

Is there a way to send voice messages via the Messages app on my iPhone?

Answer:
Starting in iOS 8 Messages, there is a microphone icon to the left of the compose field. Tap and hold the microphone to record a message. Release to stop recording. You can then push play to play back the message, push the close icon to delete the message, or push the up arrow icon to send the audio message.
