Answer:
You can hide channels and icons from your Apple TV using the built-in Parental Controls. Open the Settings app on the Apple TV and navigate to Parental Controls. Enable the option and then enter a passcode. You will use this passcode in the future to make any changes to the Parental Control settings. You can then cycle through a list of all channels/icons on your Apple TV and switch them to "Hide" so that they no longer appear on your home screen.
