How Do I Encrypt A Time Machine Backup?

Is it possible to encrypt my Time Machine backup drive?
- Asked by Michelle S. August 12th, 2013

Attach your backup drive to your Mac and open System Preferences. Click on the Time Machine preference pane and then look for the option to select your target backup drive. Before you select "Use Disk", be sure to check the box that says "Encrypt Backups". You should be all set.
