How Are The MacBook and MacBook Pro Different?

Question:

I'm trying to decide between the 13" MacBook and the 13" MacBook Pro. They look pretty similar. Can you explain the differences?

Answer:

The current MacBook and entry level MacBook Pro 13-Inch feature the same processor, processor speed, graphics card, hard drive capacity, SuperDrive, and battery life.

The MacBook Pro 13-Inch does, however, feature 4GB of memory instead of the 2GB of memory found in the MacBook. And it has a FireWire Port and SD card slot that is lacking in the MacBook. Aesthetically, the MacBook Pro features an aluminum unibody enclosure while the MacBook sports a polycarbonate unibody enclosure. The MacBook Pro is also slightly lighter and thinner.

Overall, the differences are minimal. But for some, the extra RAM, FireWire Port, and SD card slot are enough to justify the extra expense of the MacBook Pro 13-Inch.
