Can I Upgrade The Memory In The MacBook Pro Retina Display?

Question:

Is it possible to upgrade the memory in the MacBook Pro Retina Display on my own?
- Asked by Joy G. June 20th, 2012 (Updated: December 12th, 2014)

Answer:

The RAM in the MacBook Pro Retina Display (2012) is soldered to the motherboard (like the MacBook Air). It is not user-upgradeable, so you will have to max out the RAM when you purchase it. The non-Retina MacBook Pro 13 and MacBook Pro 15 that were released in June 2012 can still be upgraded by the user.
