Can I read my purchased iBooks on my Mac or just on an iOS device?

As of this writing, there unfortunately isn’t a version of iBooks for the Mac. iBooks can only be read on iOS devices like an iPad or iPhone. There has been speculation that iBooks and Newsstand will be coming to the Mac eventually.
