Question: Can I Put 8GB Of RAM In A 2008 MacBook Pro?Can I install 8GB in my MacBook Pro 15 inch from 2008?
Asked by Pearl G.
There were two upgrades to the MacBook Pro family in 2008 – one in February and another in October. The MacBook Pro 15 from February 2008 has a max memory capacity of 6GB. However, if you have the MacBook Pro 15 from October 2008 you can in fact upgrade to 8GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM. The MacBook Pro 17 upgrades from 2008 both have a maximum capacity of 6GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
Whenever you are considering a memory upgrade, we always recommend that you first visit Apple Sliced Memory. You can double-check to make sure you are purchasing the correct type of upgrade for your model and hopefully also save some money thanks to our buying advice.
