Can I Change The Dock Delay Period In OS X?

Question: Can I Change The Dock Delay Period In OS X?

How do I customize the dock delay in OS X on my Mac?

Asked by Gerard M.

Answer:

Launch the Terminal app on your Mac (it’s in the Utilities folder inside of Applications) and paste in the following:

defaults write com.apple.Dock autohide-delay -float 2

Hit enter then enter the following command:

killall Dock

The first command creates a delay of two seconds. You can edit the number at the end of the command to adjust the delay period.

If you ever need to undo the change, enter this command into the Terminal.

defaults delete com.apple.Dock autohide-delay
